Horror Central is known for many things. We inspire, educate, entertain, and occasionally OFFEND!
10. THE BIEBER INCIDENT
Simon Pegg's expressions can be attributed to any number of real world issues, and in the case of this image posted to the Horror Central Facebook page... It was the events that transpired after images circulated of Justin Bieber smoking pot and young girls cutting themselves in response. Don't ask why this got on so many people's nerves. To be honest, I don't really care.
9. twilight miscarriage
I get it. Miscarriages are one of the most tragic things that can happen in a woman's life, and are undeniably a stolen life from a tiny soul. In the same breath however I remind you that so is death, murder, cannibalism, and any number of depraved acts that bless the horror movies we embrace. Besides, it's fucking glitter and a one off joke about Twilight. Meh.
8. RIP BRUCE...
The chaos that surrounds this image all began whilst researching events that had taken place on the date of April 24 in horror movie history. Come to find out there was a stunt man by the name of Bruce Campbell who passed away on that date as well as sharing a name with one of the most celebrated cult actors of our time. Long story short, this image posted with a simple "RIP" and a link to the imbd.com account for the deceased aspiring actor... People lost composure. We found ourselves in a sea of ridicule and accusations of false reporting and non professionalism.
A joke is not a dick. Don't take it so hard.
A joke is not a dick. Don't take it so hard.
7. YEAH... THAT'S IT.
I concede to knowing not only why this is in bad taste and agree that it walks a very questionable line. But in the end Freddy is fictional and Jackson is dead. If MJ did commit the crimes he was accused of, than it is between him and god. Let's move on now.
6. BARNEY
Your guess is as good as mine. I'd like to believe the reason that this was controversial is that it has absolutely nothing to do with the horror genre. But no. For some reason people don't like thinking about Barney ejaculating on a woman's face.
5. PARAPLEGIC PUN
Yep I made fun of a paraplegic. But in good fun. I've got several friends and family that are disabled for different reasons, and it was only on their consent that I even posted this crude joke. Christopher Reeve was a beautiful person who loved to laugh and was an inspiration to many. I'm not going to speak for the late actor, but I'd like to believe he would have found humor in this regardless of how tasteless it is.
4. FALSE!
As a never ending testament to the virility of stupidity and acceptable belief... I made this image to defecate all over the person who thought it acceptable to impose their life choices onto others. The textual post accompanying this was as follows..
YOU DON'T EAT MEAT.. We get it..
If I had a nickel for every time I've heard a Vegan complain about people taunting them or not understanding their "choice".. I'd be rich.
Simply put, YOU DON'T KNOW what it's like to have unbiased compassion for animals. You empathize with the cow yet stomp the spider.. You pity the chicken yet swat the fly.
Tell me where you get off measuring the weight of any life?
I DON'T. Everything I KILL.. I eat.
The human body regardless of what your religious beliefs are, either EVOLVED to be omnivorous or was created in such a way. You've made the decision to not eat animals. Make the decision to be wise enough to not shove said belief down the throats of others.
(NOTE... Not all vegetarians smother others in their choices, or measure life. Sickening however, A LOT DO.)
Apparently the vegan population gains enough energy from slaughtered vegetables to muster the ability to fuel facebook debates.
3. WIN
The sad truth is that I don't think there was any actual complaints that we were making fun of Twilight, or that suicide was a dark undertone in this FAKE contest image. What did become prominent in our messages was that people blindly shared the image in hopes of actually winning a signed Twilight poster. Is it my fault you saw the words "Win", "Twilight", and the Facebook Share Button at first glance before reading the details and shared in hopes of winning said signed poster? No. Excuse me while I have a laugh at your expense.
2. shoulders deep
It would disturb you to know how many people believed that this was an actual picture of a mans head lodged in a dog's rectum. We received the largest amount of unlikes ever on the day of the initial posting of this image. Another ode to human stupidity.
1. ARMY OF DARKNESS
Let's get one thing straight. This image had NOTHING to do with politics. It was a black joke and not even a discriminative or stereotypical one. Can we agree that Obama is dark skinned? YES. Well there you have it. There is nothing rude or inconsiderate of African Americans in this image, just a cult film's logo plastered onto an image where "Darkness" was a tactful pun.
