The iconic Universal Movie Monsters have changed little in the last half a century that many of them have blessed horror history. Modernized adaptions of the classics have stabbed in the dark of creating something new and refreshing, however many are still atypical and redundant.
It is for this reason the minds at Horror Central asked ourselves, How would we RE-IMAGINE Universal's most beloved monsters?
Envision a world where Dracula was a known and wanted serial killer... Frankenstein is far from a misunderstood monster, but is instead a national hero and decorated war veteran.... The invisible man the epitome of weakness, with his invisibility causing him unbearable pain..
Nothing we've done here has not been touched upon before, but in light of Universal's re-invigoration of the classics in the coming years, we've set out to modernize their macabre and fiendish exploits.

The time is now. The world is aware of the existence of the monsters that made our nightmares so vivid. The government has only issued official statements and declassified the whereabouts of three of these beings.
Dracula A cannibalistic creature once believed to have been myth, his craving for blood has resulted in the death of more than 600 people across the United States. Age unknown, the Government is unable to appropriate the exact number of victims he has left in his wake or his current location. The public is advised to refrain from being outdoors after dark, and to prepare themselves for the possibility of an attack under any circumstances. Description: Charismatic and hauntingly normal, it is in the wisdom of age that the infamous serial killer Dracula has learned to blend in without drawing attention to himself. Bursts of uncontrollable anger prior to drinking fresh blood make him violent. It is only on these times that Dracula will show his actual form. |
Frankenstein's Monster Starting out as a government experiment overseen by a man known as Dr. Frankenstein, the details of the creatures existence are vague yet assumable. It is common belief that his creation was to allow for deceased soldiers to remain active, and in a re-animated state fight along side American troops. The project was considered a failure, however one of the attempts at regeneration resulted in the creature we know and love today. A decorated veteran with a soft heart yet brutal approach to combat, Frankenstein's monster is widely regarded as a national hero. Description: Pieced from the undamaged limbs and torso of several unnamed soldiers who lost their lives in 2014, the Monster stands at a staggering 7 Ft tall including the 1 in thick bullet proof glass that encapsulates his brain. |
The Invisible Man As unknown as his identity prior to the genetic mutation that caused the unprecedented lack of appearance which he is known for, The Invisible man is speculated to endure extreme pain due to the absence of pigmented skin to aid in regulation of body temperature from the heat of the sun. It is believed that he requires clothing and a mask of some kind to continue his anonymity, yet remains indoors until the night time when his invisibility isn't a weakness. Unable to have a productive life, his exploits have resulted in the death of more than 55 people, all of which lost their lives for seemingly no reason at all. Description: Lack of physical appearance, the only footage in existence of the Invisible man shows him wearing a suit and tie. |
